Captain Art's love for the sport of sailing shows in his approach to teaching. With a lot of patience, a relaxed teaching style and a little humor, he makes the learning experience enjoyable for everyone.
He is a Certified Sailing Instructor through the American Sailing Association, an association with worldwide recognition. Additionally, Art holds a U.S. Coast Guard Master's Captain License. He is also highly experienced as a skipper and an ocean racer who was a crew member aboard the J'Erin in the Newport-Bermuda Race in 2004. J'Erin won First Place in both her Class and her Division. Pictured below Art and fellow J'Erin crew members receive their winning trophy at the Governor House in Bermuda. Art also crewed aboard the Patricia J in the 2006 Newport-Bermuda Centennial Race. He also crewed in the Newport-Bermuda race in 2008 aboard the Sheila R.
